In English, the full name of BTS, the hugely popular Korean pop group, means “Bulletproof Boy Scouts.” 

영어로, BTS라는 이름은 엄청난 인기를 가진 한국의 팝그룹입니다. 그뜻은 "방탄 소년단"이죠.  

The South Korean boy band reached the number-one position on the Billboard Top 200 music charts, with the album “Love Yourself: Tear.” It became the first K-pop group in history to top the U.S. music charts.

이 한국의 보이밴드의 앨범   "Love Yourself: Tear"는 빌보드 탑 200차트에서 1위를 기록했습니다.K-Pop그룹중에서 처음으로 미국의 음원차트에서 1위를 한 밴드가 되었습니다. 

BTS, also known as the Bangtan Boys, was formed in 2013. Its seven members – Jin, Suga, J-Hope, RM, Jimin, V and Jungkook – are all in their 20s. They each have their own hairstyles, clothing choices – and their own fans.

BTS는 방탄소년단으로 알려져있습니다. 이들은 2013년에 결성되었고 7명의 멤버로 구성되었습니다. 진,슈가,제이홉,알엠,지민, 뷔 그리고 정국이며 모두 20대입니다. 이들은 모두 그들만의 헤어스타일과, 옷스타일 그리고 팬들이 있습니다. 

The reaction the band members receive on tour from mostly female fans has been compared to “Beatlemania” in the early 1960s. That was when the English rock band The Beatles became known around the world.

이 보이밴드 멤버들에게 투어에서 여성팬들이 보여주는 반응은 1960년대초 비틀매니아에 비교됩니다.  그것은 영국 락밴드이 비틀즈가 세계로 알려지게 되는 계기가 되었습니다. 

Of course, BTS is not the first or only K-pop group to see success in the United States.The music genre started gaining wider popularity in America in the late 2000s.

당연하게도, BTS는 미국에서 성공한 최초의 K-pop그룹이 아닙니다. 2000년대 후반 이 K-pop은 미국에서 인기를 얻어가기 시작했습니다. 

The international megahit "Gangnam Style" by Korean rapper Psy currently has 3.1 billion views on YouTube.

세계적으로 메가히트를 기록한 한국래퍼 싸이의 "강낭스타일"은 현재 유튜브에서 3.1억 조회수를 기록하고있습니다. 

Other K-pop groups have also made their mark in the United States. Exo, G-Dragon, 2NE1 and BoA all have made it on the Billboard Top 200 charts.

다른 K-pop 그룹들 역시 미국에서 그들을 각인 시켰습니다. 엑소, 지드래곤, 2NE1 그리고 보아들도 빌보드200차트에 진입하는데 성공했습니다. 

But none have seen success quite like BTS.

하지만 아무도  BTS와 같은 성공을 만들지는 못했습니다. 

Their success matters to South Korea. They are now among the leaders of Hallyu, or “Korean Wave.” The phrase, which is Chinese, refers to the fast rise in popularity of Korean culture around the world, from television shows to movies to music and food.

그들의 성공은 한국에게 매우 중요 합니다. 그들은 지금 한류의 중심에서 리더가 되었습니다. 한류라는 이 단어는 중국어로,TV쇼나 영화, 음악, 그리고 음식등 한국문화의 인기가 세계적으로 빠르게 상승하고 있는것을 의미합니다.
