남자아이가 여자아이보다 키우기 쉬운가요? 

Americans think so, according to a recent Gallup poll, which found 54 percent of Americans say boys are easier to raise. That compares to 27 percent who think girls are easier.

미국인들은 그렇게 생각합니다. 갤럽설문조사에 따르면, 54퍼센트의 미국인이 남자이들이 키우기 쉽다고 대답했습니다. 27퍼센트는 여자아이가 키우기 쉽다고 한 것과는 대조적입니다. 

Gallup first asked this question in 1947. Back then, 42 percent of Americans said boys are easier to raise, 24 percent said girls, and 24 percent said there is no difference. The results were nearly identical when Gallup ran the survey again in 1990. But since then the percentage saying boys are easier has increased, while the percentage saying there is no difference has declined.

갤럽은 1947년에 똑같은 설문을 1947년에도 한 적이 있습니다. 그때에도 42퍼센트의 미국인이 남자아이가 더 키우기 쉽다고 대답했고 24퍼센트는 여자아이라고 대답했습니다. 그리고 24퍼센트는 별차이가 없다고 했습니다. 이 결과는 1990년에 다시 시행한 설문의 결과와도 거의 근접합니다. 하지만 남자아이가 키우기 쉽다는 비율이 증가하는 사이 별차이 없다는 대답은 감소 했습니다. 

Gallup found that men and young adults were more inclined to say boys are easier to raise.

갤럽은 남자와 젊은 성인층일 수록 남자아이가 키우기 쉽다고 대답했다고 밝혔습니다. 

“Despite increasing emphasis on equality for women and women’s rights in the U.S. in recent years, a majority of Americans continue to say that boys are easier to raise than girls,” Gallup said.

"최근 미국에서 여성과 여성인권의 평등을 강조했음에도 불구하고, 미국인의 대다수는 계속해서 남자아이가 여자 아이보다 키우기 쉽다고 말했습니다. "

Gallup says these views may come from the belief that girls are more emotional, particularly during their teenage years, and therefore harder to raise than boys.

갤럽은 이러한 시각은 여자아이는 감정적이고, 특히 십대때, 그래서인지 남자아이보다 키우기 어렵다고 생각하는데서 온다고 말합니다. 

According to 2015 statistics from the United Nations, the United States had 104.6 boys born to every 100 girls. The global average is 107 boys per 100 girls. The country with the highest ratio of male births was Azerbaijan, with 118.9. China was second at 115.9.

국제연합의 2015년 통계에 따르면, 미국은 여자 100명당 104.6명의 남자가 태어난다고 합니다. 세계 평균은 여자 100명당 107명의 남자입니다. 남자기 가장 큰 비율을 차지하는 국가는 아제르바이젠으로 118.9명의 남자이며 다음으로는 중국이 115.9명입니다.
