A video has been released for the first time showing an Amazon tribe in Brazil that has never had contact with the outside world.

외부세계와 한번도 접촉한적이 없는 아마존 부족의 모습을 담은 비디오가 처음으로 공개 되었습니다. 

In the video, members of the isolated tribe can be seen walking through their jungle camp.  One of the tribe members appears to be carrying a bow and arrow.

비디오에서는, 원시 부족중 한명이 그들의 정글 캠프 사이를 걷는 모습이 보여집니다. 그리고 또다른 멤버중 한명이 활과 화살을 나르는 모습이 나타났습니다. 

The Brazilian government agency for indigenous affairs, known as Funai, has been studying the tribe for years, but this was the first time it was caught on camera. The agency is responsible for identifying areas where indigenous populations live, and protecting their communities and land from outsiders.

Funa로 알려진 브라질정부의 원주민부족협회는 이 부족을 수년간 연구해오고 있었습니다. 하지만 그들이 카메라에 잡힌일은 처음 있는 일입니다. 이 협회는 그들의 영역을 파악하고 그곳의 거주 인구를 파악하며,  그들의 사회를 외부로부터 보호하는 일을 책임집니다. 

Overall, Funai has found 107 isolated tribes in Brazil – South America’s largest nation. While the agency sometimes takes photos and videos, it has not made contact with the tribes for more than 30 years.

전반적으로, Funai는 남아메리카에서 가장큰 브라질에서 107개의 격리된 부족을 찾았습니다.협회는 가끔 사진과 비디오를 찍었습니다. 그리고 30년간 부족들과의 접촉을 만들어내지 않았습니다. 

Funai’s president Wallace Bastos says the video can be an important tool for teaching people about the tribes. “These images have the power to make society and the government reflect on the importance of protecting these groups,” he said.

Funai의 대통령 월라스 바스토스는 비디오는 사람들에게 원주민에 대해 가르칠때 매우 중요한 도구가 된다고 말했습니다. "이 이미지는 사회와 정부가 원주민 보호의 중요성을 깊게 생각하도록 만드는 힘을 가지고 있습니다." 

Bruno Pereira helps run Funai’s research activities. He told the Associated Press these communities know of the cities and farms around them. But they often choose to isolate themselves due to bad experiences with the outside world.

브루노 페드리아는 Funai의 연구활동을 돕고 있습니다. 그는 관련 언론들은 이러한 커뮤니티가 그들을 둘러싼 주변의 도시와 농장에 대해서 알고있다고 말했습니다.  하지만 그들은 외부세계와의 나쁜 경험때문에 스스로 고립된 선택을 한다고 합니다. 

Such encounters can be dangerous, sometimes resulting in deadly fighting that can destroy tribes. Last year, a group of illegal gold miners were accused of killing 10 people in an isolated community.

갑작스런 접촉은 위험할수있습니다, 때때로 죽음의 싸움에 대한 결과로 부족이 없어지도 합니다. 작년 불법 금광업자들이 10명의 원주민부족을 죽인 일이 있었습니다. 

“If they wanted contact with the outside world, they would [find] ways to communicate with us,” Pereira said.

"그들이 외부세계와 접촉하고 싶다면, 그들이 우리와 소통할 방법을 찾을 것입니다" 페레이리아는 말했습니다.
