옐로스톤 : 미국의 첫번째 국립공원

옐로스톤의 색감은 정말 초현실적이네요. 불지옥을 조금 미화 해놓은 모습같습니다. 이런곳을 걷다보면 마치 꿈꾸고 있는 생각이 들수 도 있을 것 같습니다. 허허 언제 쯤 가보려나요. 

Yellowstone: America's First National Park

옐로스톤 : 미국의 첫번째 국립공원

Yellowstone National Park became America’s first national park in 1872. The National Park Service was formed 44 years later in 1916.

옐로스톤 국립공원은 1872년 미국의 첫번째 국립공원이 되었습니다. 국립공원 서비스는 44년 후인 1916년에 만들어졌습니다. 

Humans have been present in Yellowstone for more than 11,000 years. The first organized exploration of the area took place in 1870. Those first organized explorers must have seen right away how special the land was. Yellowstone contains beautiful mountains, deep canyons, lakes and rivers.

옐로스톤에서 인류는 11,000년전에 출현했습니다. 이 지역 최초의 탐험은 1870년에 이루어졌습니다. 이 최초 탐험가들은 이 지역이 얼마나 특별한지 바로 알아차릴수 있었을 것입니다. 옐로스톤에는 아름다운 산과, 깊은 계곡 그리고 호수와 강이 있습니다. 

The name Yellowstone comes from the river running through the area. At first known as Rock Yellow River, it became known as the Yellowstone River.

옐로스톤이라는 이름은 이 지역을 흐르는 강에서 유래가 되었습니다. 처음에는 'Rock Yellow River'라는 이름으로 알려졌고, 이것이 후에 옐로스톤강으로 알려졌습니다. 

Yellowstone is host to many different species of plants. However, the park is most special because of what lies underneath it. It sits on top of an ancient super volcano, known as The Yellowstone Caldera. It is believed that the last time the volcano exploded or erupted was 500,000 years ago.

옐로스톤에는 많은 종류의 식물이 살고 있습니다. 하지만, 이 공원에서 가장 특별한것은 지하에서 살아가는 것들입니다. 이것은 고대 의 초화산인 엘로스톤 칼데라의 꼭대기에서 있습니다. 이 화산은 50십만년전에 마지막으로 폭발및 분화한 것으로 여겨지고있습니다. 

Experts say it may erupt again in another 1,000 to 10,000 years. But each year, there are thousands of earthquakes at Yellowstone.

전문가들은 이 화산은 천년또는 만년동안 계속 또 분화 할지도 모른다고 말합니다. 하지만 매년, 옐로스톤에는 수천번의 지진이 발생합니다. 

Yellowstone is also filled with the beauty of many hot water springs. All of the geothermal places in the world, half are in Yellowstone.

옐로스톤은 또한 수많은 아름다운 온천수들로 가득합니다. 세계의 모든 지열적인 장소중 반은 옐로스톤에 있습니다. 

In addition to its beauty and wonder, Yellowstone is an animal sanctuary. It is home to the largest group of wild animals in the lower 48 United States. As you travel through the park, you can sometimes see them in their natural habitat.

아름답고 경이로움에 더해서, 옐로스톤은 동물들의 신성한 장소입니다. 이곳은 미국 48주에서 가장 큰 야생동물 서직지입니다. 공원을 여행하다보면, 당신은 종종 그들의 자연 서식지를 보게 됩니다.
